今回の作品は、ミュージカル『Billy Elliot』の「Angry Dance」から着想を得ています。1980年代のイギリス炭鉱ストライキを背景に、炭鉱夫の家庭に生まれた少年ビリーが、父親に「男らしい」ボクシングを習わされる中で、偶然出会ったバレエに心を奪われ、自分の夢に向かって進もうとする姿を描いています。
バレエへの憧れと、それを否定する社会や家族との間に生まれる怒りや葛藤を、服で表現しました。技法の面では、ニットのテクニックを用いて生地を作りたいと考えている。シンプルなパターンにデザイン性のある生地を組み合わせることで、服の独自性を表現し、日常の中でも楽しく着ていただけるような服を目指している。立体的なニットを用い、部分的に膨らんだり縮んだりする形で感情の爆発を表現し、稲妻のモチーフを通して内面の激しさを象徴しています。

Inspired by the "Angry Dance" from Billy Elliot, this piece tells the story of a boy torn between his love for ballet and the pressure to be a "strong man" in 1980s England. I used 3D knits to express his emotional struggle, with lightning motifs symbolizing his inner anger and passion.

Through my designs, I want to express the courage and growth that come from pursuing dreams in a restrictive environment.

In the knitting technique, I used a three-dimensional structure that contracts in some areas and expands in others to express the emotion of anger. The lightning pattern serves as a symbolic visualization of anger.
